Sugar Sugar

This past weekend I was having a bit of a sweet tooth. Our house has absolutely no sweets except a few left over candies and then a half eaten pint of Blue Bell ice cream. Not cutting it. I had been pinning quite a few yummy baked good recipes on my Pinterest page, so I picked out the {Sugar Cookie Bars}.

They were a hit. It ended up being a massive sugar cookie cake. Chase tried a bite of a bar the next morning. He loved it! He then decided to eat about three bars for breakfast that day. Sugar overload. He did not feel good for a couple hours. The same thing happened to a co-worker. He at five and a half bars and decided that was too many. A couple of cups of coffee later, he was fine.

Third Base Wrecks

Tuesday night marked the end of summer softball, but I hope this becomes a tradition. I have loved coming out to watch these boys play every Tuesday night this summer. It was surprisingly cool by 8:00 PM and the breeze in the stands was amazing. Not to mention the games were entertaining because the Third Base Wrecks were a phenomenal team. What a season they had! (And, if I might say so myself, they had a good looking fan club!)

Beaching and Crabbing

The 4th of July might be my favorite time of the summer. For years and years I have gone to Galveston with friends to tube, wakeboard, tan, play sand volleyball, and just have a lot of fun.

The past two years, I have gotten to spend the weekend with my husband's family at a beach house. It is always ultimate relaxation filled with lots of sleeping, sunning, eating, and games. With the drought we are going through in Texas, there was/is a huge burn ban. No fireworks for 2011, but that didn't keep us from having an AWESOME weekend.

They cleaned the beach for us... notice no seaweed!

all I see is a relaxing day!

Chase was 'Mr. Game Man'. Every free moment, he wanted to play a game. I'm sad I don't have any pictures of that. It was such a wonderful long weekend though. Relaxing and fun! Thank you Gentry Family (and Mom, Stephen, and Megan for visiting us)!

Saturday.

I think Saturday might be my favorite day of the week. That might be because it is Saturday, and I'm loving it. This morning Chase and I woke up early (for a Saturday) and went for a run for our marathon training program.

I love early mornings. You get to enjoy ALL of the day! After our little run, we came back to our home and relaxed...

Realization:
Relaxation for Chase = ESPN or Sports Center
Relaxation for Katie = Reading!

I got to read and then cook a little. This morning I decided to make some {breakfast frittatas}. They are filled with veggies, eggs, and cheese. They were quick and easy to make too!

They are great to heat up and eat on the go!
